Face Mapping: What your skin acne says about your health (3 min read)

Hello everyone. Today I am going to tell you about face mapping. Face mapping is an ancient practice which connects a part of your face to an organ so you know what to treat internally to get rid of acne. Given below are reasons why acne might be occurring on certain locations on your face and solutions to prevent them:

UPPER FOREHEAD: Upper forehead is directly linked with the digestive system, the large intestine and the bladder. If you are getting acne here means your digestive system is having a difficult time in digesting food and there is a build up of toxins. 

SOLUTION: Have more antioxidant rich foods or drinks like green tea, lemon water, berries and so on.

LOWER FOREHEAD: Lower forehead is associated with mind and spirit. If you have pimples popping here it might be due to irregular sleeping patterns, stress, depression etc.

SOLUTION:  Try to sleep early (ideally before 11 pm) and get 8 hours of sleep. Also find time to de-stress yourself. Indulge in activities like meditation to relax your mind or any activity which makes you happy and relaxes your mind.

NOSE: The nose reflects the heart. Acne caused here is due to blood pressure and stress.

EYEBROWS: The window to your liver lies between the eyebrows. Breakouts in this area is due to high-fat diet and/or too much consumption of alcohol. Acne here also indicates that your body is dehydrated.

SOLUTION: Stop consumption of alcohol and fat rich food. Also increase your water intake.

EARS: If you are getting pimples on your ears means your kidneys are not being taken care of. Kidney problems are often caused due to lack of water and consuming too much caffeine and salt.

SOLUTION: Drink plenty of water and cut down on sodium and caffeine intake.

CHEEKS: Cheeks correspond to the lungs. Pimples caused here can be due to allergies, respiratory stress and smoking. (The ultimate guide to stay healthy & beautiful)

SOLUTION:

  • Avoid smoking and smoking areas.
  • Cleanse your skin properly and gently. Remove makeup so that they don’t clog your pores.
  • Keep your hair away from your face so that dirt and dust from your hair do not get transferred on to your face.
  • Wash your pillow cases at least once a week to prevent germs from accumulating on them and getting transferred to your skin.
  • Keep your cellphone’s screen clean. Squeeze a little hand sanitizer on to a clean paper towel and wipe the screen of your cellphone to get rid of all the dirt and germs. Clean your cellphone at least 3-4 times a week. You can also clean it regularly if you want to.

MOUTH AND CENTER OF CHIN: Mouth and center of the chin is related to stomach and small intestine. Acne here is caused due to too much fast food consumption and constipation.

SOLUTION: Replace spicy food, meat and greasy food with antioxidants rich fruits (grapes, apples), vegetables (carrot, cauliflower, spinach), nuts and wholegrain food.

SIDES OF THE CHIN: Sides of the chin are linked to the reproductive organs and kidney. Breakouts in these areas are often associated with menstrual cycle in women, some level of hormonal imbalance or the kidneys working overtime. Most likely due to you putting yourself through extreme amount of stress.

SOLUTION: Relax yourself and de-stress.

EYES: If you have puffiness underneath your eyes, or if skin underneath your eyes is blue (or grey) or inner corners of your eyes are sunken and have a dark blue (or grey) color to it this implies that you are depleting your liver and kidneys by eating too much rich and fatty food.

SOLUTION: Avoid rich and fatty food. Eat whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables.
