Being judgemental (1 min read)

If you google the word judgemental, there are generally two meanings that come up. One has to do with making judgements. The other meaning has to do with being overly critical. It is when we make judgements in ways that have negative consequences that we are being judgemental.

Being judgemental is when you judge the entirety of something/someone based on one aspect and this is something we all indulge in daily. Judging someone on the basis of the decisions they make, the way they interact or the clothes they wear is something we do regularly. But when someone judges us we label them as “being too judgemental”.

Put yourself in someone else’s shoes before judging them. One should always accept people for who they are without trying to change them. Be empathetic and understanding. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes.
